Since the second biocat congress in 2004 the biocat award has been awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of biocatalysis. It is awarded in three categories: Academic Research, Industrial Research and Lifetime Achievement.
The award is usually presented during the social evening on the second day of the congress.
